5Nice Primer
By LeeS
Nice overview of Western philosophy to understand the why and how of one's history. Clear, concise and not in depth in abstract issues one probably is not interested in if purchasing this type of book. Good overall exposure to the subject.

4Great introduction and overview
By Steve from Bonita Springs
This book was a great way to get a refresher on my college Philosophy 101 and a broad overview or philosophers and important milestones in thought throughout history.

3it doesn't really make important philosophers like Socrates interesting enough
By Amazon Customer
I took a few philosophy classes and judging by the way this book is written, it doesn't really make important philosophers like Socrates interesting enough. The writing is very brief and sometimes it could get unnecessarily complex. I recommend this book for people who want a rough outline of philosophy.
